Knifing at higher levels.

So I tend to knife more than I snipe, I heard in the higher levels it becomes a bit ridiculous. Everybody teams up and bosses you, so just tell me about it.

From somebody who's never hit 16+ level :/

You can knife at higher levels, it's possible, everything is possible, the only problem is you have to be very, very, very good to retain a positive kill death ratio.

its true, at higher lvl knifing becomes close to impossible...
unless ur happy with waiting for that perfect timing and maybe get 3 kills in a whole round.
ooorrrr, completly ruin your K/D and just knife whoever you can and then die.

ive always been knifing with my mando aswell... but since recently i switched to pistol/TT setup...

at high lvl against decent players you stand no chance with ur knife.

Well even if it wasn't for the teaming up, everyone at a higher LVL knows how to get a knifer off his back.

If your going to be a knifer carry a pistol with you, so if you miss that last hit with knife that you needed you could always pistol them. Also be smart when knifing set your tts up strategically and you can take down a group of enemies wthout to much damage.

I like getting points and helping my team in different ways too.
I joined this game and Nationals were down and lost 37-0. The next game started and I had a chance to play, and I just captured a few flags, went around strategically killing off lone players and keeping our territory. Even when I go into games and we're down, we've won 1-0 because I'm the person gaining us territory by capturing flags. Maybe a my own little way of playing for commando?

Nothing is impossible. You can do it if you train hard and wait pateintly for your chance to come after BS and Leg It.

Since royal superknife is bugged somehow (=> max. dmg = 32), It'd be quite difficult if playing royal.
As national there's no problem at knifing, cause the knife isn't bugged.

I love knifing, it's basically the only thing I do as mando. It is pretty hard at high levels though...

Just switched to a sniping build with the quick sniper. Scoring less and a crap kdr compared to when I knifed! Interesting.

Knifing is EASIER in lower levels because most soldiers and gunners don't spend their initial Hero Points on Blasting Strike and Leg It. Once they've got a couple points invested in either of those abilities, it's tough for a knifer to stay close enough to their target to complete the kill. That doesn't mean it's impossible. You just need to time your attacks so your opponents' "anti-knifer abilities" are on cooldown. Also, in higher level games, the players are more experienced, so they tend to linger in groups more often. That just makes knifing a suicidal and/or time consuming endevour, so most people give up on it as a means to initiate an attack.

Got the SVD on the daily claw, been getting decent kills on that. Finding spots without just sitting on the church towers and cliffs is hard though!

Yeah, I know...

...but nobody in this thread explained to OP why knifing is more difficult at higher levels. He's never hit lvl 16+, so the basics may not be obvious to him. He's asking for information about this phenomenom, not asking people what they do when they give up their knives.
