  • Bad at long ranges? This is the gunner's only weakness, IMO, in that the gunner is geared for close range and dies at long range. Guess what? There's a lot of cover in BFH. It's not that hard to just retreat into cover when a sniper or someone starts firing. Running from long-range confrontation is amazingly simple.

Also the gunner has quite a few pros, too. INSANE close-range damage, giant ammo clip, fast rate of fire, the ability to close in on an enemy to utilize said close-range damage, extreme healing potential from aforementioned insane close-range damage, the highest health coupled with an ability to FURTHER increase this highest health, ability to counter explosives, an RPG to destroy tanks, a keg to slow down enemies allowing you to close in and utilize aforementioned insane close-range damage?

Does gunner not seem OP to you now?

Let me summarize:

THE GUNNER

I already admitted I probably do not know very much, but this is the most amazing constructive criticism I have ever seen. (The previous sentence is also a good example of sarcasm.) One sentence which basically says "You don't know anything". Nothing else. Nothing about what I don't know, nothing to even prove I don't know anything.

Well guess what? You don't know what you're talking about.

And that's the truth, because you didn't elaborate in the slightest. Anyone can blindly type "You don't know anything," I could probably even whip up a script to automatically quote a post and print "You don't know what you're talking about" for every further reply to this topic, but those who actually KNOW "what they're talking about" something can back it up. That's the entire premise of my post. I didn't blindly type "gunner op," I listed my reasons why. If you could explain what I'm not understanding, that would be most appreciated. Otherwise, I think I know full well what I'm talking about.

If gunners are so OP, gunners on average would have the highest ELO and killdeath right? Most likely: wrong. There's snipers, soldiers and gunners with huge and tiny ELO's, KD's WL's etc etc. I bet the average numbers for all 3 classes are actually not that far apart.

I can do fine with both my gunners and soldiers. They all have their strengths, you just have to know how to use them effectively. I don't play snipers because I hate them, deeply.

NOTE: The information was taken from the BFH leaderboards, in the top 30 K/D for each class of THIS WEEK, so unless on this week certain classes played extremely epic, it should pretty accurate. If you don't believe me, you can check it yourself. It should be noted that these may not be 100% accurate due to the possibility of typos.

Average Soldier K/D: 20.4741333333
Average Commando K/D: 22.7081666667
Average Gunner K/D: 23.6220666667

Yes, the K/D's are all very similar, but Gunners on average are still higher (at least in the top 30). So, I will stand by my notion that Gunner's are OP, but not like "Press button to win" OP.

It's way too flawed, not to mention it's just KDR, which is flawed on itself. ELO it the "least worst" stat to represent succes. Filter out extremes, filter for lvl (say) 20-30, use more stats than just KDR etc. etc. I wanna bet the difference is minimal.

At most you can say from your numbers, the noobbashers do well with any class Smile

If I recall correctly, there were no levels below 15. Also, unfortunately you can't filter out ELO, and filtering out level is also impossible without checking every single hero. D: Maybe I'll whip up a script to do this or something.
