Frequently Asked Questions | Battlefield Heroes - Free to Play, Cartoon Shooter

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Battlefield Heroes is currently being developed for Windows XP and Windows Vista.

What future updates might hold, who can tell...

  • We're currently aiming for a minimum requirement of:

    • Operating System: Windows XP or Windows Vista
    • CPU: 1.0 GHz
    • RAM: 512 Mb (1Gb on Windows Vista)
    • Video Card: 64Mb DirectX compliant video card with at least pixel shader 2.0 support
    • Hard Drive space: 1Gb of space is required to install the game
    • Internet connection: 256kbit Cable/DSL connection

Keep in mind that this may change somewhat by the time we release Battlefield Heroes. Nevertheless we are aiming for wide availability; we don't think anyone should have a super computer to be able to play and have fun.

  • Battlefield Heroes is scheduled to be available for free download later this year.

We're currently running a closed beta program and will have an open beta at a later time.

  • There are three easy steps to getting Battlefield Heroes once it's available:

    1. Register on the Battlefield Heroes website
    2. Click the "Play Now" button to launch the Heroes Updater
    3. Wait while the Heroes Updater downloads, installs, and launches the game

That's it! You can take a moment to customize your Hero or jump right into battle!

  • Battlefield Heroes will offer two different factions: The National Army and The Royal Army.

  • Battlefield Heroes will offer three different Classes:

    The Soldier
A balanced fighting character who focuses on leadership and healing abilities.

    The Gunner
A big weapons character who focuses on taking and dishing out lots of damage.

    The Commando
A sneaky character who focuses on surprise attacks from both long range and close quarters.

  • An ability is a special skill that your Hero can use in order to gain a temporary advantage. The abilities are class specific and can be leveled up individually. Players can choose which abilities they want to bring into battle.

A good example is the Gunner's "Hero's Shield" ability -- when activated, for a short time the player may absorb more damage.

  • New content such as maps, weapons and clothing items will be added continuously throughout Battlefield Heroes lifetime. The content we create will be heavily driven by community feedback. When new content is available it will be automatically downloaded when you launch the game.
