changing the rifles so that commandos have to sit at the edge of the map to get kills...hmmmm...sounds good but they would need to fix some other stuff.
1. at super low detail (which i play at) you cannot see very far so sniping from far distances is out of the quesion.

2. the sniper crosshairs are not fine enough to see people when you are really far away. that makes it almost impossible to snipe somebody if you are far away.

but i like the idea of having to stand really far away to kill somebody. it makes me harder to find Tongue

People, I believe these changes are already implemented concerning MGs, just take a look at their damage and notice that it strangely resembles what M1k3ol posted on the PTE forums.

I've been checking some friends videos, and some personal use too, and the common damage from the MGs are starting to show differently on the live game, but with no updates to the files at all!

the more I'm checking the weirder it gets...I think theres a mistake by DICE with in-game files on the server itself, so, it might be canceling our files damage, since server defaults might be different...this is just a thought, since rifles are not behaving differently in the live game yet...so, it can't be a file issue...on our side

I don't think you mischecked the files, all I'm saying is that the damage I'm getting seems to correspond to what you posted on the PTE, and I know that I don't have any proof, or maybe I can just make a vid of that. Having the fast MG hitting for no less than 5 at short distance made me think of your values.

Though the LR SMG does need some lovin'.

Also consider that changes in PTE can be changed before transition to live game - just need feedback before we can do anything.

We are also working on those annoying issues that are messing up Hero Point and the PunkBuster issues.....so if you get a chance please hop in to check out the fixes and changes and provide feedback.

About medium range MG vs long range MG:
Why should anyone use the long range MG over medium range MG? The damage from MR MG is superior on every range now (medium and long distance). I don't think the higher accuracy (1.3 vs 1.4) makes up for 25% less dmg.

Hah, found out a funny thing sir: it seems that the LRMG deals more damage at medium range than the MRMG, long range seems like it's the same. I took M1k3ol's values:
MRMG:
  • Short range: 102.4 DpS
  • Medium range: 62.4 DpS
  • Long range: 52.4 DpS


LRMG:
  • Short range: 39.3 DpS
  • Medium range: 84.3 DpS
  • Long range: 54.3 DpS
