Confused i find it different and i think my way is easier,
skill:
i max out shield asap
it save me a lot of widgets expecially when your enemy is hidding and shooting at you, it gives you more time to find out where they are
leg it, level 1 is enough
frenzy fire.. i find it useless probably last skill i put my points in, will discuss
keg, i max it after i get lv 1 leg it and max shield.. again when you are facing with someone invisible or a lot of enemy, this give you aoe dmg and let you know where excetly they are when you hit them

I am way different then yours, i use MG and Shotgun, both fastest..

Game play
when you see an enermy, first i hit keg, and then sheild before getting any dmg.
i use my fast short gun to follow him, when my shield is dmg or use up, i will do leg it running away to find a save place to heal or moving left and right to kill that single enermy. i switch shotgun and mg when the bullets are running low, i will switch to fast mg to finish the rest of the kill~
beside, fast mg can help you locate the enermy when sometime you know an invisible knifer/sniper is close but you don't know where... so you spam it around ..you have like 90 - 110 bullets... you can spam a while Big Grin

Awesome guide - I just tried lvl 5 ff for an hour or so and pretty much doubled my kill/death ratio. Awesome build - will definitely stick with it.

I do think you should consider 1 point of ieg though, i have my keyboard mapped so 1-2-3 puts me in tank turret, then uses ieg, then puts me back in driver seat, good for getting rid of stick tnt.

Also, i use ieg when approaching flag, is quicker than looking for / shooting the tts that are lying around.

[edit] also, if you are passenger in a tank and have ieg the driver will love you - makes you immune to all explosives, including rockets. So you are basically invincible.

interesting guide, i don't agree with everything but there is some useful knowledge there, i think i'll try the ff, never thought it would come in handy but it seems to work for you and other people as well, i'm going to reset my points just to try it, then go back to what i got

I completely disagree with the Gunner points given here. The shotgun does incredible damage up close and even a soldier on full health cant take more than 2 or 3 shotgun blasts. If he was already weakened by the MG the switch to shotgun is very successful.

Second i kill people with the Keg all the time, especially after you get it to level 3+. at level 5 anyone nearby lights on fire.

There are different tactics for each class, i am pretty successful on the battlefield and i use a completely opposite tactic than provided here.

i play mainly on my soldier, and your build cannot beat blasting strike, which you already pointed out. BS allows me to break the fight for some time, to heal, reaload etc, especially combined with 6th sense wich allows me to attack you in the back.

i also disagree on your shotgun view, a shotgun can do massive damage in very short time, it's just not easy to get every single shot right in your opponents chest, it requires some skill.

Without BS a soldier is very probably dead when he meets you Wink

This combo pwns to a certain degree.

When the game is random and usually 1 one 1, I frequently came out the victor with FF even on level 4. However, there a situations where you cannot dominate -

1. When the opponent does a Blasting Strike, shoots a Bazooka rocket at your feet or a Keg lands near you. All of these throw you back and you lose the critical bullets on target (which is the strength of this combo). You then need to run back toward your target, taking more hits all the time.

2. When the enemy is paired or running as a pack. No matter how good you think you might be, 2 guns vs your 1 puts you in a world of hurt. You might take down the 1st dude, but the 2nd is gonna get you especially if they are working together. (This is where the keg comes in handy as you can break up teamwork).

3. When levelled up Snipers have a clear shot at you. Unless you have a some Leg It and sprint to cover, you're a sitting duck.

The best aspect of this combo is you can run into an enemy flag and as soon as you're in range of your first victim, light up FF then go to town. If the enemy are all playing solo, you'll have a field day. When your FF is empty duck behind cover, heal, wait for FF to recharge and head out again.

Due to many players not fully utilising their Abilites in rapid succession, the FF ability works well, but it's not the only solution for the Gunner.

Played with FF from the begining. I do beleaf that this set up will work at is best from lvl 16. So i cant wait to hit it Wink.

FF and long range MG is btw great against plains, Its just funny to see how they get ownd Tongue.

I will give you 10/10 for your guide. Not just because it works but because its also fun to play it Wink

I've been playing gunner recently. I actually originally started only with the intention of learning how a gunner plays to better understand their weaknesses so I could more effectively counter them with my soldier. Since then I've had a blast with the gunner and understand why people who play this class like it so much.

I've tried FF up to level 3 and I found it does help a bit but I've also encountered many gunners that I killed w/out using FF when they were using FF. In fact I've found that with a high level shield I almost always tend to beat gunners using FF when I have the default MG in
1 v 1 at close range. Now since there is a damage bonus with levels 4 and 5 FF maybe that evens things out, I'm still a relatively low level so I haven't had many chances to really test higher level builds.

In all I've found for me the shield is more valuable than FF, except for a few occasions.

The best solution I've come up with to countering BS is to stay just out of range of it and use the faster rof of the default MG to devastate the soldier while absorbing damage (including initial BB damage) with the shield. It almost always works because the default MG fires 150 more rounds per minute than the fastest SMG while doing the same damage and as long as you stay close the difference in bullet spread is negligible.
