Hi everybody!
I have played this game to level 24 as a soldier. Recently i have noticed that every time I stop playing it is bacause of someone totaly invisible is killing me over and over again. I have a history of BF 1942, BF2 and BF2142. In those games I have had the possibility to come back and kill that camping sniper, or at least avoid him. In BF Heroes he is totally invisible and is playing a game of his own. How can you be in the same game as someone you cant see? IMHO this is going to kill this game. I have no trouble with geting killed by someone I can see, he just must be better than me. Sorry to have to be a negative person, but this is taking the fun out of it for me. Reagards Franziz |

It's not going to kill the game, there are many ways to avoid commando.
You'll just have to find out and get used to it. ![]() Anyways I don't think anyone have complained about the "Stealth" ability.

So tell me again, how are Commandos supposed to survive with just 80 hp, with no efficient close range weapons to fend off Soldiers and Gunners since they can't cloak?

same here, its nonsense. Picture this:
high level sniper with tt, high level cloak, and armor piercing. map CC you run to take a flag, he uncloaks and shoots you 2/3 shots. he cloaks run away throw troop traps. its impossible to do anything to them as soldier, its just killing the game for me. ![]() not to mention snipers killing planes.. Edit: royal-henry ever heard of troop traps and max level cloak? unstoppable |

The thing with battling against Commandos as a Soldier or Gunner is to position yourself properly. Don't go out in the open.
When you do get shot, use Combat Medicine and Hero Shield to counter the damage and take better cover. When you have identified the location of the sniper, choose whether or not to engage. |

Well being a knife commando , i have to agree that sniping commandos are way overpowered whit their sniping but cloaking, troop traps etc are fine =D
Complaining about others classes being overpowered, concludes in you being weak.

you cannot possible identify location, thats the problem. snipe you, run away cloak and troop trap. And yes you can blob him, but hell run away and throw more troop traps.

I use knife only, and it's almost impossible to kill a soldier with blasting strike and burning bullets. When he has lvl 5 healing- death for sure.
P.S. Only sniping commandos don't have skill. It's hard to aim and kill with knife ;] P.S.S. Sometimes I kill a soldier with these abilities which I wrote below. Usually he's wounded. ![]() Times killed U-238: 5 |

I disagree. Stealthed snipers can be taken down, sometimes it takes a few soldiers working as a team to do it if the sniper is really good, but it's extremely do-able ... and satisfying too
Stealth gives them a false sense of security, and piercing shot stands out quite well when they enable it. Use your ears too, they can be very noisy when it hurts them most. You'll learn how to out sneak the sniper if you don't give up. There's a number of good threads that give you good tips on doing just that too, if you want to research it. Take care ... Thrash Hard!!

If Troop Traps are giving you trouble, transform them into health points with I Eats Grenades (level 1). |

I agree with my previous knifing-coulleges, as the stealth is vital for us. Maybe that snipers have to uncloak for 0.3 secounds before activating piercing shot?
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED? IS THIS NOT WHY YOU ARE HERE? |

It sounds to me like your problem is not with their ability to stealth (which they need to survive), but with Piercing Shot. Just nerf the damage bonus it gives a little bit, and nerf it against planes and jeeps entirely. Your problem will be solved with that. Troop Trap, albeit annoying, is an entirely fair skill to use while cloaked.
I play a gunner myself, and I too find Piercing shot overpowered, but I deal with it. Once I get close to a commando, whether they are a knifer or sniper, they are dead. |

A well played Commando is a very formidable opponent, just the same as a well played soldier or gunner. I would say that only about 10% of the Commandos I come across play well and the rest just make for easy kills. Playing against them can be a bit frustrating as the most skilled ones can kill your soldier before you get a chance to return fire, although by changing your playing style and implementing some defensive strategies you will be a harder target.
The number one thing that has helped me is not running in a straight path at all, I try to zig-zag as I run. Also, as a commando it is a whole lot easier to aim at a target the further away they are, so try to limit your exposure to long lines of sight/fire. What I really reccomend is maxing out Burning Bullets, these are extremely effective against Commandos. Commandos might be nerfed in the future sometime, but until then just take a look around the forums, there are plenty of good tips and strategies which will help you to improve your effectiveness against them. It will also help to play a commando to higher levels yourself, as this is the best way to learn their strengths and weaknesses. |

The misconceptions some people have about commandos are hilarious.
Making up stuff like THEY CAN GO INTO STEALTH, SNIPE ME TO DEATH AND THEN GO BACK INTO STEALTH.

Hi again!
Wow, all the commandos gathered here. No matter what you guys say, for me this is killing the game. Someone wrote: "just like every other ability". NO!!! It is NOT like any other ability. It is total invisibility!!! I am up against someone who can put up traps, kill me with two shots or knife me with one stab, who I CANT SEE! IMHO, you cant play against someone you cant see. If anything's going to kill this game, it's the overwhelming number of players who don't use their $%^&*ing heads!
Common sense and tactics are all you need to hold your own. Invisibility does not equal invincibility. Think about what might happen, use terrain and cover, move unpredictably and learn what you need to do to fight The Invisible Man. *Generally, this is where the high-level complainer tries to put me down because I'm a lower level - so I'll just save time and state right now that if you can't do these things, high level Commandos aren't your only issue. Even a low level Commando will have their way with you if you just run around blindly. ![]() All the obstacles used by lesser minds to justify nerfs can be overcome by smarter play. |
