What happened to a constructive way to talk about the game? If you wanna talk about your videos, go to that section, wanna talk about sports, go to Off-Topic. I am very tired of seeing these rage threads that have completely nothing to do with the game! I know there are plenty of mods, so why aren't these topics getting locked? Like just now, I replied to a very rude player saying BFH is a rip-off! Close it. It may relate to BFH, but it is putting it down. Can we please start constructive posts and topics?
Here's something... What heroes are the three classes based off of? I'm thinking Gunners-Rambo, Soldiers-James Bond? Commandos- Hard to say... There something constructive for our community to discuss in a civilized manner... ;D ![]() |

All the QQing and flaming is ruining this community, it would be nice to see people having fun instead of complaining. I wonder what was used as the inspiration for mando. Guide for FUN |

There are lots of mods, but they cant be online 24/7. At this time, I'm usually the only mod online, but I cant always be on the forums as I'm at work for the next 5 hours.
General chat does get pretty bad sometimes. People just dont use their brain and post here. ![]() Youtube Channel | Sub | Server | BF3 | I am a community moderator, not an official EA representative | Xfire | 100 Duckshots? | Forum Rules |

They just see the "general" part and then figure that's where they should post.

I don't understand why you all are locking threads which doesn't belong here. I understand that these thread doesn't belong to here, and should be posted in the specific section, but why don't you all move the thread instead of locking it ? A lock is a drastic treatment, it just stops an ongoing thread and the OP has to create an another thread at his/her own. Use it for serious threads which gets offtopic, can result into flame war and such in that category. here is an new example i encountered today : http://www.battlefieldheroes.com/en/foru...tid=363706. Even if this thread was posted in wrong section, this thread wasn't even solved and a lock doesn't help the OP at all. Just move it... it takes some more time, but you get more satisfied customers. If there is no move toolkit, then i did laugh because that's a simple php encoding. IF the devs can create a solid forum, then this shouldn't be a big problem. |

Moderators are not babysitters, we are people with lives and interests just like you. Surprisingly enough we are also human just like you. In other words, players should be using common sense and their brains in order to spot the sections they should be posting in. If they post in the wrong section, unless it is a really good topic that is active, it will be closed in hopes that that player and others will learn that they have posted in the wrong section. Moving topics doesn't teach players anything except for "Oh if I post in the wrong section, the mods will move it for me, so I will just keep posting in the wrong section" It has been something that BFH forums adopted 3 years ago and one of the many guidelines that VitalBullet and Shadeshooter created. As to the state of General Chat...funnily enough moderators alone cannot keep it tidy...the community need to do their share too, that means posting in the correct section, encouraging discussions about the game and so on. As mentioned by the OP regarding "topics pulling the game down"....they are fine as long as they provide constructive feedback...in other words negativity doesn't always hurt unless it's "this game sucks" and no reason is provided. My point is:

Not all moderators will have the in-depth knowledge to answer questions when closing topics. It should NEVER be expected for a moderator to answer a question when closing a topic but moderators WILL try and answer the question if they can. That lock is fine....slightly less than I would have put but it send the original poster to the correct section and states that if they need further help then they need to post in the Technical Support section. After all Tech Support is where all those that do have the knowledge to help people reside such as Mebes, who does a fantastic job of helping those in need. Anything else I can clarify or help clear the air about for you? ![]() I am a Community Moderator, not an official EA Representative |

Positive as well as negative threads / posts can be regarded equally as valuable as long as it is constructive. Nothing is perfect, but you should always strive towards perfection even if you know it's not an actual achievable goal.
As for General Chat usually getting threads not meant for it is just common. There's always a section in forums that will outshine the other ones and due to its popularity. People tend to try to put it in there as a 'jack of all trades' to get the most attention. As long as it's not entirely out of context, they're usually accepted in General Chat. But other than that, you'll have to accept the fact that moderators are not 24/7 forum vigilantes and it will be dealt with it in proper time if needed. If you want to help the moderators, then simply report a thread / post and they'll see it right away once they're online. |
