In AoE3 it's almost always nr40 min (no rush 40 min) which means you're not allowed to even touch your enemies scouts for 40 minutes. And in AoEO it's a bit too fast for me. it used to be a lot faster in beta, with geared pvp. Or maybe you just haven't tried champion pvp, which is only a little faster paced than aoe2. And no rushing? really.. ;p

Tbh, I've never played AoE2 X_X Only 1 and 3. And yeah, EVERY single game was like that. That's why I got bored of multiplayer and now only play it on amateur level with my friends every now and then.

Well most casual gamers prefer the campaign/questing/coop/4vs4 against AI. Give it a try;p
in the pvp scene no1 plays treaty/ no rush |

Yeah, and since I'm so used to the no rush thingy, I'd probably not last 10 minutes in AoEO, since I'm used to build up a really stable economy and then an army.

it's not like there are only top players in aoeo. Most people play the campaign/quest, only like 10% play champion mode pvp(which is no gear/lvl involved, all fair). However even most of these pvpers should give u a nice match if u played pvp in a previous aoe, at whatever pace. Also there are always players trying out pvp after they lvled/geared their civs.

AOEO has a new element in their PVE. You can find gear for your units that give them bonusses, very nice RPG element imo. Also you can find advisors that give you a bonus for every age. Use consumables, which are like shipments from aoe3. You can also craft your own gear/advisors/consumables, because there are also workshops that produce materials and crafting schools.
The gear element works everywhere but in champion mode pvp, because it would be obviously unbalanced. so gearing a civ is gathering decent gear |

actually i like the consumables. Also the shipments in AOE3 were one of the few things that i liked about the game compared to AOE2.
just a random sidenote about game pace on AOE: used to play some TDM with starting age post imperial together with friends. that's rush at its finest. (but not as our regular gametype obviously, because the strategic value is close to zero xD regicide ftw xD) ![]() (24-12-2012 02:04 AM)EddyKawabata Wrote: Ghost sums it up quite nice here. |

i'm actually not a fan of unit spamming when playing competitively. that's what i liked about AOE1, 50 units and you're done xD

well i always built those super awesome catapult thingys. everything else seems to be rather useless. and then you have a catapult 1v1 and everyone shot and then drove away to not get hit.
kinda funny how many flaws those games had and yet they were a lot of fun ![]() (24-12-2012 02:04 AM)EddyKawabata Wrote: Ghost sums it up quite nice here. |

But he was talking about bf2 - bfp4f. There are like 0 original bfp4f maps. ![[Image: th_Skull_black.jpg]](http://th845.photobucket.com/albums/ab14/SyCoTiiCa/th_Skull_black.jpg)
