Peaceful Wrote:  Mother was and still is an alcoholic and my dad did and still does have to try and deal with so my brother kinda looked after me untill I was 12 and he moved out. Then I met Sarah (my friend Dale's mum) when I was 14 and she became like a real mother to me (mine never cared). I'd never had anyone like Sarah in my life before, she cared about me for who I was. She died on 09/06/11 (or if you're American 06/09/11) from cancer. That kinda marked the end of my childhood cos it's only since then that I've properly been alone as far as having any sort of parent figure goes.

Besides that I'd say that growing up in Manchester was something that marked my childhood. It was kinda rough and when I lived on Moss Side and Gorton we had to be in at like 7 cos of all the shiz that happens. And then as I got a bit older I found that I was getting into situations that I knew wouldn't end well, most of them didn't It's weird looking at some people now who I was friends with then and seeing how they've changed. Some became addicted to Heroin and that shiz sure aint pretty. Threw their whole life away when they could've been something.

But honestly I think it's made me a hell of a lot stronger than I would've been without these experiences.

Something else that will always remind me of my childhood is this:

You'll either completely remember that or have no idea what it is

Deel sorry for you, bro. *Internet hug*
I clearly remember the old days when my entire workbooks in school were filled with these "S" letters. They looked so cool at the time :3

I had a great childhood. My first 10 years were awesome, bicycling around in my area and just playing with friends, lego and toy cars. Christmas when i was 11 I got a Xbox (original), and I always played Cel Damage, one of the best games ever made in my opinon.

Gaming-wise, I think OoT had a massive influence on me (first game I personally ever paid for as well), though I could make a pretty long list of games that have made me think, I suppose the N64 was pretty key to my growing up through my early teens (we used to host Goldeneye multiplayer matches and mini tournaments to begin with).

In the "real world", life as ginger child and my brother were probably the most influencing. He was very "I'm going to be mean and bully the not so good out of you and beat you up, but if anyone else tries to do that to you I'm going to ducking kill them".

Most of my "life changers" happened after I was 16 and to keep the thread from getting morbid, I'll refrain from details and instead just know that a lot of bad things have happen in my later life.

Oh that "S", I remember that lol, must have drawn thousands of them, a long with male anatomy' and other inappropriate things.

Saw Jurassic Park at the age of 4 and Indiana Jones two years later. And that's when i knew that my purpose of life is to study the art of film.

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED? IS THIS NOT WHY YOU ARE HERE?

@Gharfield No need to triple post, just edit your original instead.

Cool to see that other people remember the "S"

Some of my childhood was also wasted playing GTA2 and SoulBlade (A.K.A. Soul Edge, it was the forerunner of Soulcaliber) on the PS1.

Now this is a story all about how
My life got flipped turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-Air

In West Philadelphia born and raised
On the playground is where I spent most of my days
Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool
And all shootin' some b-ball outside of the school
When a couple of guys who were up to no good
Started makin' trouble in my neighborhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
And said you're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air

I begged and pleaded with her day after day
But she packed my suitcase and sent me on my way
She gave me a kiss and then she gave me my ticket
I put my walkman on and said I might as well kick it
First class yo this is bad
Drinkin' orange juice out of a champagne glass
Is this what the people of Bel-Air live like
Hmmm this might be all right

But wait I hear they're prissy, bourgeois and all that
Is this the type of place that they should send this cool cat
I don't think so I'll see when I get there
I hope they're prepared for the prince of Bel-Air

Well uh the plane landed and when I came out
There was a dude looked like a cop standin' there with my name out
I ain't tryin' to get arrested yet I just got here
I sprang with the quickness like lightening disappeared

I whistled for a cab and when it came near
The license plate said "Fresh", and had dice in the mirror
If anything I could say that this cab was rare
But I thought nah forget it, yo home to Bel-Air!

I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8
And I yelled to the cabbie, "Yo Holmes, smell ya later!"
Looked at my kingdom I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel-Air
