Background info
So, let’s get started. Battlefield Heroes is the First Free to play shooter created by Easy in 2009. It is the first free to play franchise of the Battlefield series. The general manager of battlefield heroes is known as Ben Cousins. As for you Australians, you would know this as the West coast Eagles AFL Star. Battlefield heroes is a cartoony third person shooter. It is online and requires downloading.

Basic info
So, I’ve made this guide for newcomers as well as veterans. So let’s get started. So basically, you’re a hero in this cartoony battlefield. The Germans (Nationals) have being fighting with the allied alliance (Royals) for a long time. You create you hero via the website http://www.battlefieldheroes.com.
You can customized you charactered ECT. You can also give you character a creative name. You pick a faction (Royals or Nationals) and choose and class. I am doing a guide on Soldiers. The maximum level of this game is level 30. The game is constantly updating and changing. It is currently in Open Beta phase.
You will need to download the game by clicking the big play now button at the homepage or http://www.battlefieldheroes.com/playnow
You will need to install an add-on and then you will be able to download the game via battlefield hero’s updater. You basically enter a battlefield and kill anyone that has a red name tag. If you have come just to have a try of this game, here are some reviews for you to check out!

The soldier class
The solider class is more of a balanced class between the gunner and commando. The weapons they are able to use are SMG’s, some explosives, shotguns and pistols.

Note: Super/Uber weapons are the same type of weapon as the normal but increased critical damage chance.
My recommended weapon build
SR SMG, LR Pistol and Steel Hand Grenade/Bill’s Bomb.

To see what some of them play like, go to YouTube and search them up. You should be able to find a decent video showing you how hard it owns. So now we have that out of the way, the next part of my guide!

Abilities
Abilities are a type of skill that your hero can learn. To upgrade Ability you need to obtain hero points. You can gain hero points every 2 levels: 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20,22,24,26,28,29,30. Altogether once you hit level 30, you should have spent 16 hero points (Excluding the one at level 1)
Here are the abilities available to soldiers.
Burning Bullets (BB) when you fire and hit another hero from the opposing faction, they will go on fire and do continuous damage for some time. This is very useful for Post Mortem. How much damage you do and the refresh time of this ability depends on how high you upgrade it.

Combat Medicine (CM) Combat Medicine is an ability that you start with. You automatically can use this ability when you join a battlefield. Combat Medicine is the most useful ability and I strongly suggest you max it out to 5 using your FIRST FIVE hero points. It heals yourself depending on how high you upgrade it. When you’re near other players, you can heal them which rewards with you EXP! Sharing this ability also makes you heal more if many heroes are around you, you could heal up to a whopping 75% of your health! The refresh time of this ability depends on how high you upgrade it.

Sixth Sense (SS) Sixth Sense Is an ability than enables you and others around you to see enemies that are hidden or behind walls that you cannot see. This is very useful if you’re trying to use Grenade Spam or throw a Steel Hand Grenade/Bill’s Bomb. The sharing range and refresh time varies from how much you enhance this ability.

Grenade Spam (GS) Grenade Spam is an ability that give you a whopping amount of grenades to through at your enemies. It is very useful against escaping mass amounts of enemies or covering your escape. The number of grenade and refresh time varies from how much you upgrade this ability.

Blasting Strike (BS) Blasting Strike is a very effective ability and I strongly recommend maxing it out after maxing Combat Medicine. This is very useful for blasting knifing commandos away when they are too close, also for blasting jeeps when enemies are trying to run you over. You can also try Blasting Tanks but you will need to upgrade this ability very high (4-5) to flip tanks.

What is DOTD? DOTD is Deal of the day. You can usually find this at the homepage. All DOTD are sales regarding cheap deals like 50% clothes ECT. Hackers
Yes, sadly to say there are hackers in this game. The most common hackers are aimbotters. They are mainly on commandos and you can usually spot them. If you’re a commando and you’re in stealth, they can kill you from far away. Now, to the normal non-hacking player, they wouldn’t be able to do that because you are invisible. The best way to ban a hacker is to screenshot them hacking or make a YouTube video about them hacking. Post the evidence like this.
1. Go to http://www.battlefieldheroes.com/search
2. Enter their name
3. There will be a little button saying report this player. Click that and post your evidence
Alternatively, you can alert the server moderator and ask them to ban them from the server. REMEMBER, DO NOT post accusations of hacking on the forum. That is strictly forbidden. For more info on this go here

Strategies
Now, I will explain what to do when fighting a gunner, soldier commando, tank and jeep.
Commando: When a commando comes up to you using Exlir with a knife, immediately use Blasting Strike. It will give you time to react and shoot him. When a commando is sniping you, try to duck out of harm’s way. DO NOT underestimate Commandos as their sniper and knife is very powerful.
Gunners: Try not to take on gunners alone. They are very powerful and have 150 hp. Try blasting them with BS and hit them with BB. When your health is reaching low, use CM. IF you’re under heavy attack by many gunners, throw a grenade or use GS if they throw a Keg at you, use BS and Blast it away. WARNING: NEVER EVER UNDERESTIMATE GUNNERS THEY VERY POWERFUL AND COULD DIMINISH YOUR HP in a blink of an eye.
Solider: Keep in mind that you are a soldier and you’re exactly the same as him. Try to kill soldiers as quickly as possible and they can be a nuisance. Use BS and blast them away. Then use BB and burn them. Use CM if your health is low and you’ll see who comes out on top.
Jeeps: Jeeps are very easy, when approaching you, use BS. This will usually make them exit the vehicle. When they exit quickly dispose of them.
Tanks: Tanks a very tough. Avoid the tanks and try not to stick TNT on them. If a gunner is beside you, BS the tank to assist him. DO NOT ATTEMPT to take on a Tank alone you will always lose without a proper explosive.

Prestige
Prestige is a rank that appears at the bottom of your name once you have reached level 10. When you reach level 10, your prestige will be Private. This is how the prestige works. You keep dealing damage to others which will make you prestige go higher. The final Prestige rank is General C it goes up like this I, II, III, IV, V VII ECT. You can determine how good a player is/ how experienced by looking down at their prestige.

The Daily Claw
The Daily Claw is basically like that machine where you get a little claw and grab a chocolate bar but you can’t guarantee which one you get. Various amounts of equipments, emotes, weapons ECT. You can get a 1day trial, 7 day trial, 30 day trial and a permanent item. You can see the permanent item because there is a star on the icon. Click stop at the right time and you could be on your way to a free cool item! Note: The Claw will only be available ever 24 hours. It was introduced during Christmas in 2011. During special events, the hours will change from 24 hours to 8 hours a claw.

Forums
Forums are a great way to make new friends, share ideas and ask questions. When you post, next to your name is a little icon that says Open beta. This means you have participated in the Open Beta phase of Battlefield Heroes. There are also other icons like the BFP4F sign and Closed Beta. The BFP4f sign means that he/she played during the Closed Beta phase of Battlefield play for free. (Another game developed by Easy. The Closed Beta sign means that they have played during the Closed Beta phase of Battlefield Heroes.

Funds
Funds are the currency of Battlefield Heroes, Lord Of Ultima and Battlefield Play for free. I also believe that Need For Speed World will be added to the play4free series. Funds is like a special currency that enables you to buy much better weapons, clothes and emotes ECT. You can also get free funds by doing server entering competitions ect. Just go to buy funds. And on the side of the page there is a bar that says earn funds. Click that and it will take you to sponserpay. Just a friendly reminder, please ask your parents before submitting any information to Sponserpay.
Note: Funds was formally known as Battlefunds. It was converted during January 2012.
Golden Guns
I know a lot of you have been asking how can I get golden guns?
Well you can’t. The only time they were up for grabs was during 2010 of the South Africa world cup. We hope they will be available again during 2014 at the next world cup.

Pilfered and stolen
Pilfered and stolen guns are basically guns that are from the opposing faction that you can’t normally buy in your store. It’s just a load of fun killing the opposing team with their guns. I prefer not to use pilfered/stolen but if you have spare battlefunds why not? xD

Treasure chests
During June a new drop system arrived at Battlefield heroes. It was called the Treasure chest system. I will explain very carefully on how it works.
Occasionally when you kill an enemy, there will be a treasure box that appears on the screen. That means the next time you log in via http://www.battlefieldheroes.com ; you will get a notification that tells you that you have received a box. You will need a key to open this box and if you missed out on the free giveaways (7 free keys) it costs (599 funds) per key.
