"It seems you were thrown out of the loop."

The rumble of the tanks behind the ruined wall grew closer. Wilhelm patted Hans' shoulder. "I was referring to Jager when I mentioned you earlier. I am not familiar with your face yet, Hans. My condolences."

The subtle vibrations in the ground shook stronger and stronger, as the muffled roar of the armoured monsters drew closer and closer.

"When the tanks roll in, they're gonna hear us for sure, but they won't know exactly where we are. We're ghosts in this darkness," said the platoon sergeant. " Corporals, get your squads into position and standby."

The platoon harbour scattered, as the squads formed up in loose formations on the large road. Mike's squad was in the back.

The NCO looked around, and he could just make out the shapes of many soldiers converging to his position.

Royals. Definitely.

The Sherman tanks soon appeared. He counted no more than five.

The two platoons of troops made it to the rally point swiftly through the shadows. Mike saw a soldier approach him.

"Hey corp," said Jones, the platoon sergeant of third platoon. "What's the plan?"

"Good to see you guys, sergeant," replied Mike. "The whole company's going in. Deep and hard. See if we can catch the Nats off guard. Looks like we're doing the dirty work so that those monsters have a path to roll in through and finish them off."

The two watched the tank commanders peep out from the Shermans, speaking to NCOs on the ground.

"And by the way, sergeant," Mike continued, looking at the brightly lit cigar in the sergeant's hand. "You might want to get rid of that. Sergeant Colin wants sound and light discipline."

A radioman walked over to Young and asked, "You got some cigarettes?"

Young quickly dug in his right pocket for a box of cigarettes and matches.

He took a cigarette out for the young radioman. He looked more like 15 or 16. But, it didn't matter. He gave the boy a cigarette and the matchbox.

Young had a distinctive southern Royal accent as he asked, "Well, anything from that bulky radio?"

"Yeah, we're expecting a provisional armored platoon later in the week, those grease monkies over at the makeshift motor pool are converting some old cars into armored vehicles, they will come over by tomorrow noon at earliest, I think a sergeant major named 'Redd Fremont' will be leading them, heard good things about the man, risk-taker and tenacious, he disobeyed a direct order to fall back and held a position somewhere in the north for days before some rifle company got them out," the radioman claimed.

"Well, we need all we can get, I can tell this battle will be a long one," Young said as gunfire erupted somewhere distant from the men.

"General Order #5, 'To quit my post only when properly relieved'," Eddy recited.

"As far as I'm concerned, I cannot leave my unit," he added.

"Sorry," he offered pathetically.

"Where's your squad? They may join in on your mission," Eddy said to Jones as he jogged off to his own squad.

"Uh..." Mike stuttered. "Company orders are for all platoons to launch a surprise counter-attack straight into their lines. Your call, sergeant."

Mike jogged back to his squad's formation. He looked around. Behind them, two full platoons of soldiers stood around, waiting for the attack to start. The idle tank engines crackled away quietly.

"Alright boys," he heard Sergeant Colin call out softly. "Let's move."

The company of troops began moving and picked up the pace.

Mike looked keenly ahead, rifle and bayonet at the ready.

With a bit of sneaking, Wilhelm and Hans trudged back over to the nearest foxhole in short time. This one is at the very front of a spearhead, at the very edge of the mortar platoon's range. Wilhelm anticipated shells to drop at least right in front of them when the time came.

"...But I trust them." he said, illustrating the situation to Hans. "We've had too much time to prepare to make mistakes. It's all planned out."

Hans sat quietly in the foxhole, With Wilhelm by his side he felt safe in a way. The Shermans' grew, with their menacing turret staring above us. Hans reloaded his SMG, strapped his helmet on tighter and relieved his strained breath. ,"What..what if they don't manage to drop those bombs..." muttered Hans, shivering in an unknown cold, "It'll happen, don't worry," replied Wilhelm peeking out of the foxhole.

(Wilhelm is my character, his speech is mine to write. Sorry for man-handling our movement that one spot earlier, but remember to give people room to roleplay)

Wilhelm sat below him, setting his mortar tube onto his shoulder. "Do not worry your head about them not dropping." he grunted. "It should be when they DO drop that you should worry. But take to heart that I myself am not in the least bit worried."

After a bit of waiting, shells began to come down onto the advancing armor. Unfortunately, none of them directly hit, and yielded no apparent progress from Wilhelm's view. Creating an arc of fire with the edge of the foxhole and his shoulder, the Lieutenant fired off a flare over the enemy. It illuminated the entire formation like daylight.

(Ditch the Field Marshal)

Eddy gripped his rifle and marched with the rest of the company. Suddenly, he saw a flare fly up in the sky.

He instinctively hit the deck and crawled below some cover to be unseen, but it was probably too late. The formation was exposed.

It took Steinzer six hours to respond. Just as the situation was getting desparate, with Shermans moving in on National positions, he ordered two Panzershreck brigades to take out the enemy armor. The brigades were then flanked by four National infantry divisions, to provide cover against infantry.

Within two hours, about 8 Royal tanks lay in ruins. But more were coming, and the street was once again crowded with tons of armor.

(now which team is supposed to win? I guess we'll see xD)

Day 3, 04:00, National Base Camp

EEEEEEOOOOOOOWWWW BOOM!

"Get out get ou-"

"On fire!"

"We're being overrun!"

Behind the main attack force, the Royals now had Spitfires bombing, and gunning the National base camp. Steinzer-Lanchesteppe was being evacuated to a safer Headquarters, while the Nationals on the frontlines put up a fight.

"I got Arty, EVAC, tanks, paradrop, bomber support, what do ya need," radioed Steinzer to Lt. Wilhem.

Little did he know the situation was much worse. The radio almost destroyed, infantry cover brigades were almost wiped out, mortar was useless, and the AT could never get in a good position to fire.

The Lieutenant and his squad hid in a series of foxholes....and suddenly there was a huge explosion, the radio wire buzzed, and the radio clicked on.

04:25, Royal Occupied Steppes

(To Be Continued, and Wilhem answer my support offer, do you need assist?)[/b]
