With the hector's hatred/jack's cloudmaker and the assault shotguns, the devs have essentially made the gunner a sniper. Two very long range weapons for a class that is only supposed to be good in the short to mid range. Discuss. Is it right? Is this the new role gunners should take? What would you do for a Klondike bar?

I think it's pretty good with the Punk LR shotty. Dual LR power, and juggling people with the bazooka can help you cope with the long firing times.

I'm not sure how well the pirate pistol would be with commandos or soldiers, but I'm content with my gunner having one.

The new pistol is not OP at all. It's good at long range, fair at mid range and sux at close range due to the slow reload speed and the ammo capacity.

60 Damage from pistol, switch to Shotgun another 30-50 on top of that (up to 70-80 Crits, if all pellets hit) 2 shots from Shottie and anyone is dead. Combined with legit for extra evasion.


or Rocket launcher 20-30, air shot with pistol for another 60 and finish with shotgun.

Things tend to change if you whine about it enough times during a long time frame.
Piercing shot and grenade spam are good examples of that in the past.

If i were a gunner who bought all these items, after the psitol fires its round, i would not wait the 3.3 seconds, i would switch to a secondary, ideally an RPG or long range shotty. Not to mention the high health and the shielding capabilities which allows the gunner to absorb damage he receives for that time.

Meh, Im just complaining. maybe players will find a good counter to this, like gunners using legit and strafing against snipers
