I have edited the first post based on my findings. If you are confused how it works, please take a look at it.

Thanks again to Iad.Uroboros for all the help.

I'd like to point out the big difference between BFH and all of the other games that use ELO. Level matters. If you are level 16 or higher, your points are cut in half.

The other thing worth noting, is that each kill or death changes your score. It does not wait until the end of the match to calculate it.
So if you are a high ELO and go 2-1 vs. a low ELO, you could still lose points.
For example, I had a 1322 go 2-1 (in one match) vs. a 961. Even the the lower ELO lost the overall battle, his ELO went up 22 points.

These 2 points explain why it is so hard to gain ELO after a certain point in this game.

Here's one to think about: I took a level 28 with ELO of 1344. In a play now game, which looked pretty even judging by the ranks, I went 0-5 on purpose and dropped from 1344 - 1289.

Be careful out there!

Sorry to noobask but do you want your ELO higher or lower? Is 1 the best or the worst possible? Can it go negative?

If you actually read what I wrote, you could tell that higher is better. As far as negative, it is possible, but you would have to be really really bad for a long time. It would have to be deliberate.

Thanks for explaining this to us it's very helpful , but really should it not be EAsy that explains this to us ? Are they really so lazy that they can not be bothered or know how to explain ELO in their own game?

ELO is not their invention. You could always google it. I used to play UT, they didn't explain it either. Since BFH does do a variant of it, it would have been nice if they explained that though. It causes discussion in the forums by letting us figure it out though. They probably like that.

I suggest this topic for sticky as there's always new players looking to know what it is.
