Greetings forum-goers. I have created this thread to showcase an art-project of sorts, that I have been working on these past few days.

I have created a few portraits of some well known forum regs a few of whom I've had the pleasure of befriending, others.. not so much. Reguardless, I hope you enjoi my hard work. -Sgt.MatthewBaker

credits: Thanks to [RA] for the banner, Loco and Zlotnik for the motivation, and myself for creating this art and thread. Not to mention everyone who was showcased here, and You forum goers for watching.

Tutorial: ok. Step 1: aquire paper and pencil through illigitimate means.

Step 2: draw picture and scan like so: http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/219/tav...aitpng.png

Step 3:open with gimp , create a new transparent layer.
Note: This the most important step. If you don't add a layer over it, you will be wasting your time.

Step 4: With your new layer over the image, use pencil tool at about .30 size and trace over the lines like so: http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/7919/...rtrait.png

Step 5: Now that you're done tracing it, make sure nothing is selected. Now click on edit/cut. The entire tracing should disappear. Click on file/new and make it transparency in the advanced option square.

Step 6: Now click on edit/paste on the new page. Your traced layer should appear. Move it into the desired position and resize if necessary. Anchor the layer when ready.

Step 7: use the fuzzy select tool to select areas and color inside of them. When you're done the portrait should look something like this: http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/3267/...tfinal.png

I made banshee's mask based on a picture that he had in his sig once.

His was actually one of my top 3 favorites due to the fact that I simply loved the design and idea.
