December 7th, 1941
"Day of Infamy"- Pearl Harbor, Hawaii- Oahu

Me and my friend, Douglas, walked onto the deck where we saw planes buzz over us. "Whoa. Would ya look at this? Is this a drill?" Douglas asked me. I replied with a confused look on my face "No. This ain't no drill." We stood there as those planes flew over us with their engines roaring. Then, out of nowhere, one of them dropped a torpedo and toar open one of the ships that are docked. "Sound the alarm!" one of the sailors said as he rushed below deck to warn the others. "GET UP! The Japs are attacking!" he shouted as sailors scrambled for their trousers and ran up the deck to get to their stations. I stood there, looking at the planes as they destroyed our ships. I rushed over to one if the side .30 Cals and checked to see if the ammo was full. It was filled with 30. Caliber death and I cocked the gun, with the loud click sound as I pulled it back and then let it go. I pulled the trigger and alot of kick came out of the gun as some of my burst of bullets caught one of the Jap Zero's on fire. It's smoke filled the air as it hit the light, blue water with a huge splash.

Then, my friend Douglas had 2 safety jackets with him as he ran towards me, frightened. I was as frightened as he was. "James! We gotta get the blazes outta here before we get shot up by those Japs!" he yelled as he handed me a life jacket. Doug leaped off the deck's rail first before I did and I pluged my nose and leaped. I hit the water with a very loud splash and I was floating below the surface of the water, struggling to get to the surface. My uniform was wet like sea weed and my friend, Doug, was swimming towards me, pulling me by my right sleeve. The smoke and fire filled the air of Hawaii as screams are heard through our ear drums. We saw the USS Arizona flip upside down into the depths of the ocean. We all were in awe as many struggled to save one another. We swam onto a boat deck that wasn't far from where we were and we got up. I was shivering as Douglas was holding me tight, saying "It's over now. Stay calm. I'll keep ya warm. You hear me James?" I replied with a very shaky nod of yes. He helped walk to the hospital to see that a bullet went through my leg and that it was a regular injury. Not bad, just a regular injury that can be healed.

The United States of America was suddenly and deliberatly attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan. The United States will live peace with that nation and at the solicitation of Japan, was still in conversation with it's government and it's emperor looking toward the maintenance of peace in the Pacific. Indeed, one hour after Japanese squaderans have commenced bombing in the American island of Ohau, the Japanese ambasador to the United States and his colleague, delivered to our Secratary of State, a formal reply to a recent American message. Japan has therefore undertake a suprise offensive extending throughout the Pacific area. The facts of yesterday and today speak for themselves. No matter how long it may takes us to overcome this pre-meditated invasion, the American people and their righteous might, will win through with absolute victory. With confidence in our armed forces with the unbounding determination of our people, we will gain the inevitable triumph. So help us god." President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

That was very "distinct." Heh heh. I only spotted a few errors, nothing major. Second line, first paragraph, you spelled "click" wrong. Probably just a typo, but you know. Good read, has a bit of a hook. I look forward to seeing some more chapters.
