Chapter 5:

As Pablo flew through the air, he began to think back to his early days in the army. After he had been shipped out of the academy, he was continually picked on by the other Royals. Seriously, they should have been ashamed of themselves. Their reason for it was terrible. They picked on him all because he had cost the Royal government millions and had killed or wounded some of their friends. What jerks. This persisted for an entire year. It wouldn't have stopped either if it weren't for one event that completely changed everything. It saved the Royals from a great defeat and made a significant mark on the war. Would the reader like to hear it? I bet you would. However, before he could get into that stage of the flashback, he was interrupted. Several National planes had come up behind him while he was in flashback mode and were closing in. Perhaps it wasn't the best idea to space out while driving a complicated vehicle through enemy air space. Well, it was to late for that now. Pablo would have to maneuver his way out. Ugh. More thought continuing to sand down what was left of his brain. So he observed his situation. He was a single pilot with half a brain, almost no flying experience, and still dizzy from the grenade vs. several battle-hardened National Veterans with a perfect angle to shoot him down who, as far as he knew, weren't dizzy from taking a grenade to the head. So, he put in to effect a well thought out, strategic maneuver. He panicked and pushed every button he could get his hands on. His plane went completely crazy. It went up, down, backward, performing tricks that most people would practice for hundreds of hours to perfect, executing them perfectly, calling on the power of pure dumb luck to help him. Well, in the process he hit the self destruct button. Of course, it could have been worse. He could have pressed the nuke Britain button that was to the right of the self destruct button. That very well may have ticked off some of his superiors back at the base. Seconds before it exploded he pressed the eject button and escaped. This was great for a few seconds, after witch he realized he didn't have a parachute. So he began his free fall to certain death. The reader may be wondering how he got out of that situation. Well, he didn't. He fell and died. How about that? No special way that he escaped, no lucky breaks, he fell and straight out died. Nice plot twist huh? Well, it would have been if that had actually happened. Gotcha didn't I? In reality, as he fell a National plane came to close and his belt caught on the wing. The time for Pablo Pancakes would have to come at a later date (applause). The pilot didn't want him on the wing but wasn't cruel, so he met the situation half way. He gave the wheel to his co-pilot, climbed on to the wing, gave Pablo a parachute and kicked him in the face, knocking him loose and sending him spiraling towards earth. Pablo activated the parachute and slowly drifted towards earth, finally coming to rest back at the National base. Apparently, he had gone so crazy with the plane that he had accidentally reversed course and he come back to the National base. He was detained and put back in a cell. Pablo couldn't really comprehend what had just happened so he stopped trying and sat down. Well, at least his jail time would end up being less boring this time. Now he had weekly therapy to look forward to.
