Football Fiesta - Golden Gun Guide

Hey!

So yea, i guess there is a lot of people who don't know much about football, so i thought i would post a thread which would advise people on the ''best'' teams and the safest bets to get a golden gun
(ratings are out of 5, based on the likelyhood to get a golden gun)
So,
THE TEAMS

Group A Teams

Poland:
Host country.
Fairly decent team i believe, nothing overly special

Rating: 1 star

Greece:
Generally defensive and counter-attacking
Failed at group stages in 2010

Rating: 1 star

Russia:
Decent team, could do well

Rating: 3 stars
UPDATED RATING TO 3 STARS

Czech Republic:
Respectable team, not comparable to the likes of Spain though,imo

Rating: 1.5 stars

This is the 4 teams of Group A, winner and 2nd will play the 2 teams from Group B.
Chances are, the Group B teams will win
so i doubt any of these 4 teams will make the semi finals, if i am honest

Group B teams:


Germany:
A strong team this year, 3rd place in 2010
They have a very good chance to win the tornament

Rating: 4 stars

Netherlands/Holland:
Very strong, runners up in 2010
VERY good chance to win

Rating 4.5 stars

Portugal:
Got some decent players.
Unlikely to beat Germany and Holland

Rating: 2.5 stars

Denmark:
Top 10 fifa world rankings
Above portugal, below Germany and Holland
Unlikely to progress

Rating: 2 stars

These are the 4 Group B teams
All of these teams have the potential to reach the semis, but i think Germany and Holland are the 2 outstanding teams in this group


Group C teams:

Spain:
Winners of 2010 and 2008.
Very strong still

Rating 4.5 stars

Italy:
Very unbalanced, failed at group stages in 2010
Won 2006 World Cup

Risky

Rating: 3.5 Stars


Croatia:
Shock winners of 2012?
Not seen them play recently but people are suggesting they could win this, so we will see after Sunday, when they play Ireland

Rating: 3 stars

Ireland
Very unlikely to progress

Rating: 0.5 stars

Spain,Italy and Croatia are the 3 challengers here, we can but see
Spain is the safest bet tho xD


Group D teams:

England:
Shocking team, new manager, missing several key players
Good defensive structure, low expectations
Could actually do ok

Rating: 2.5 stars


France:
New look, bad in 2010
Could actually be a big suprise

Rating: 3.5 stars

Ukraine:
Pretty bad team, co-hosts

Rating: 0.5 stars

Sweden:
Good strikers, could be lucky and progress

Rating: 2 stars

England and France and the 2 likely progressers here... not likely to win overall though...


PAUL'S PREDICTIONS
Group progressers, in my opinion
A= Russia, Greece?
B= Holland, Germany
C= Spain, Italy
D= England, France
(assuming the first name is the group winner)
This would mean


Greece v Holland = Holland
Russia v Germany = Germany
Spain vs France = Spain
England vs Italy = Italy

Semi-Finals

Holland vs Spain = Spain

Germany vs Italy = Germany

Final:

Spain vs Germany = Either

These are who i would buy as masks


However.... if you wait until the 19th June
You will know the 8 teams who progressed, and you can purchase all these for 12000 funds, guaranteeing yourself a golden gun
^ this saves you 3000 funds over buying 16 jerseys now, which you will probably never wear all of them anyway
This 3000 funds could be spent on 2 shirts, so for 15000 funds you could guarantee yourself 1 golden gun, and 2 possibilities extra, which is definitely a boost on the Dotd right now!


However, there could always be a shock winner, as in 2004 with Greece, so please don't blame me if Ukraine wins the tournment ;(

yes, but you could buy all the 8 group winners for 12000 funds and still be guaranteed a golden gun

Pretty good suggestion Paul, I think that's pretty much my scenario too.... but Euros always come with unexpected events so I except some trouble in the force. (Remember 2004 winner).

If Germany didn't lose in strength since the last world cup, they have everything needed to win the competition.
