Just read the story and appreciate it.
And BTW, this game will probably be delayed, just like all other DICE games. It's not something I'm complaining about, just a statement and something we should all be used to by now.

patience is a virtue, old and slightly corny but true.
There are many other good Battlefield-games you can play while waiting. I turned retro yesterday and played Battlefield Vietnam. Funny to play old games for some times...

You DICEtards are really scraping the bottom of the barrel. And a "summer" release is looking extremely unlikely. How about an open beta? or at least one for long term registrants of this website. Or a more serious release date more specific than "summer"
I am sick of reading irrelevant, irregular site updates. Release the game or give us a realistic DATE for release.
why do we have to be grateful? for a game promised for months but not released? Are they giving us free money?
Sorry but DICE does not come under any charity in my book, so there is nothing to be grateful for. If you create hype expect to be booed when you don't make good on your promise.
Well, i seriously doubt that Dice is avoiding to release the game just to tease people. "Haha, you want the game but we won't release it!". That's just not the way it works. As someone mentioned, when it's done, it will be released. It won't go any faster just because of whine and generally set release dates aren't held but instead, most often postponed. This goes for all developers, not just Dice and EA.
And actually the game was promised to be released this summer, and as far as I know it's still summer (At least according to the calendar). So it really isn't delayed yet.
And BTW, it can be considered as released as soon as it goes to open beta. Since that's when it will be made available to the public. It doesn't seem too unlikely to me that they manage to do this before the end of this summer, considering that the game is technically "done".

really people its a good story and personally i have never done an open beta in my life because there may still be so many bugs in the game that the next time you go on the computer youll need to were a bug net over your face, that was a joke, oh and the game probably still wont be released for another month maybe 3 or at the very most a year you should go and do somthing eles with your summer while its here so you dont regret it after. im not saying you shouldnt check the site every now and again hell you should but like Avalyst said its due to be released in the summer so it could be released the very last day of summer and it still wouldnt be a late releas, even though many of you would definatly be pissed. and dice really cant not releas the game to mock people because well there reputation would be ruined and they would drastically start to lose money (thats right its all about the money no matter what company you are). so go out and have a good summer ,while checking the website every now and again. trust me youll thank me later and if you ever want to send me somthing nice like a cake or a playstation 3 ill be happy to ablige

its a free donloadable game so they probably dont have room to put singleplayer game mods in only the multiplayer

I am forseeing the past...there is a typo...it is not to be released in summer 2008...but to be released in summer 2009.... Yeah i bet $10 that is what happened and thats why the open beta hasn't come out after half of summer is over.

OK this far into a closed beta, by now you should have a release date or at least an approximation!!!
Another comment just to try to keep us satisfied with the fact that the open beta isnt out yet.
Besides, the developers rarely are the ones pushing to give the public a date, that usually is done by the publishers.
Thank you, developers, for making a game for us!
And yes, patience is a virtue. Tragically, it seems it's been lost to many.
